  • 2 large large apples (your choice of variety) Choose apples like Granny Smith, Fuji, or Honeycrisp.
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon For flavoring.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon sugar (or a sweetener of your choice) Adjust according to taste.
  • 1/2 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
  • as needed Cooking spray or oil for air frying To prevent sticking.

Preparation

  • Wash and dry the apples.
  • Core and slice the apples into fry-shaped strips, aiming for uniform thickness.

Batter Creation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine flour, cinnamon, sugar, vanilla extract, and milk. Stir until smooth.

Coating the Apple Fries

  • Dip each apple slice into the batter to coat well and shake off excess.

Air Frying

  • Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  • Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray.
  • Place the coated apple fries in a single layer in the basket. Cook in batches if necessary.
  • Air fry for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden brown and crispy.

Serving

  • Remove the apple fries and let them cool slightly. Serve warm with extra cinnamon or honey.

Notes

Double dip in the batter for extra crispiness. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat in the air fryer for best results.
