  • 1 cup mashed bananas Ripe for best sweetness.
  • 1 cup oats Use gluten-free oats if necessary.
  • 1/2 cup nut butter (peanut or almond)
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup For natural sweetness.
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup chocolate chips (optional) For added sweetness and flavor.

Preparation

  • Mash the ripe bananas in a mixing bowl until smooth.
  • In a separate bowl, mix oats, cinnamon, and optional chocolate chips.
  • Add nut butter, honey (or maple syrup), and vanilla extract to the mashed bananas, stirring until well combined.
  • Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients and stir until fully combined.
  • Scoop out a tablespoon of the mixture and roll it into a ball. Repeat until all mixture is formed into energy balls.
  • Place the energy balls in the fridge for about 30 minutes to firm up.

Notes

Use ripe bananas for best flavor. Customize with nuts, seeds, or dried fruits. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week or freeze for three months.
