These Best Nutella Pastry Twists are flaky, golden, and filled with rich chocolate-hazelnut spread. Made with store-bought puff pastry, they come together quickly and look bakery-worthy—perfect for brunch, parties, or an easy dessert.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 sheets puff pastry thawed but still cold
  • ½ –¾ cup Nutella softened for easy spreading
  • 1 egg beaten with 1 tbsp water (egg wash)
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract optional
  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven: Preheat to 400°F (205°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Prep pastry: On a lightly floured surface, unfold one puff pastry sheet and gently smooth seams.
  • Spread filling: Spread an even layer of Nutella over the pastry, leaving a small border. (Mix vanilla into Nutella if using.)
  • Layer: Place the second puff pastry sheet on top and press lightly to seal.
  • Cut & twist: Cut into 1-inch-wide strips. Twist each strip several times and place on the baking sheet with space between.
  • Egg wash: Brush lightly with egg wash.
  • Bake: Bake 15–18 minutes until puffed and deep golden brown.
  • Finish: Cool 5 minutes, then dust with powdered sugar if desired.

Notes

  • Keep puff pastry cold for maximum puff.
  • Spread Nutella thinly to avoid leaks.
  • If browning too quickly, tent loosely with foil for the last few minutes.
