Ingredients

  • Main Ingredients
  • 4 Medjool dates pitted and chopped
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt full-fat or 2%
  • Seasonings Sauces, or Flavor Base
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of cardamom or nutmeg optional
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pantry Staples
  • 1 teaspoon butter or coconut oil
  • 2 tablespoons chopped nuts walnuts, almonds, or pistachios
  • 1 teaspoon chia seeds or pumpkin seeds
  • Optional: 1–2 teaspoons honey or maple syrup to taste

Instructions

  • Let yogurt sit at room temperature for 5–10 minutes to prevent curdling.
  • Heat a small skillet over low to medium-low heat.
  • Add butter or coconut oil and let melt gently.
  • Add chopped dates and cinnamon. Cook for 2–3 minutes, stirring gently, until dates are soft, glossy, and warmed through.
  • Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
  • Spoon yogurt into a serving bowl.
  • Top with warm dates and drizzle any pan juices over the yogurt.
  • Finish with nuts, seeds, and optional honey if desired.

Notes

  • Keep heat low to avoid scorching the dates.
  • Dates are naturally sweet—taste before adding extra sweetener.
  • If yogurt becomes watery, the dates were too hot; let them cool slightly next time.
