  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine sliced peaches, granulated sugar, and lemon juice. Toss gently and set aside.
  • In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter until it turns golden brown, approximately 5-7 minutes.
  • In a separate bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt. Whisk together milk, brown butter, and vanilla in another bowl.
  • Combine the flour mixture into the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.

Assembly and Baking

  • Pour the batter into a greased 9x13 baking dish, spreading evenly.
  • Top with the peach mixture, ensuring the peaches are evenly distributed.
  • Bake for 40-45 minutes until golden brown and bubbling. A toothpick should come out clean.

Serving

  • Allow the cobbler to cool slightly before serving with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Notes

Choose ripe peaches for best results. You can use canned or frozen peaches if fresh are not available. Watch the butter closely while browning to avoid burning.
