Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup melted butter

Optional Toppings

  • to taste icing (store-bought or homemade for drizzling)

Instructions

Preparation

  • Start by building a fire at your campsite that produces a glowing bed of coals.
  • In a small bowl, combine the sugar and cinnamon thoroughly.
  • Open the can of crescent roll dough and carefully unroll it on a clean surface.
  • Brush each triangle of dough lightly with the melted butter.
  • Sprinkle a generous amount of the cinnamon sugar mixture onto each buttered triangle.
  • Starting from the wider end, roll up each triangle tightly to form a spiral.
  • Using a skewer or a long stick, slide it through the center of each rolled-up dough piece.

Cooking

  • Hold the skewer over the hot coals, rotating it slowly to ensure even cooking.
  • In about 10-15 minutes, the roll-ups will puff up and turn golden brown.
  • Once done, remove from the fire and let them cool for a minute. Drizzle with icing if desired and serve warm.

Notes

For the best flavor, consider adding chocolate chips, nuts, or chopped apples inside your roll-ups. Avoid cooking directly in flames to prevent burning.
