Ingredients

  • 1 16 oz can refrigerated biscuit dough, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 lb breakfast sausage cooked and crumbled
  • 8 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheese cheddar, Colby Jack, or a blend
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp garlic powder or onion powder optional
  • Butter or cooking spray for greasing the dish

Instructions

  • Preheat oven: Preheat to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Layer biscuits: Spread biscuit pieces evenly in the baking dish.
  • Add fillings: Sprinkle cooked sausage over the biscuits, then add an even layer of shredded cheese.
  • Mix eggs: In a bowl, whisk eggs, milk, salt, pepper, and optional seasonings until well combined.
  • Assemble: Pour the egg mixture evenly over the biscuits and cheese.
  • Bake: Bake uncovered for 35–40 minutes, until eggs are set and the top is golden brown.
  • Rest: Let rest 5–10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Cut biscuits small to ensure they cook through.
  • Letting the casserole rest helps it firm up for cleaner slices.
  • If the top browns too quickly, loosely cover with foil near the end.
