  • 1 package refrigerated pizza dough
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
  • 1 cup seasoned ground beef or turkey
  • 1/2 cup taco sauce
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • as needed cooking spray

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a skillet, cook your ground beef or turkey until browned. Add in taco sauce and green onions, mixing well. Remove from heat and set aside.
  • On a floured surface, roll out the refrigerated pizza dough into a rectangle, aiming for about ¼ inch thickness.

Assembly

  • Cut the dough into strips about 2-3 inches wide. Place a spoonful of the meat mixture along the center of each strip and sprinkle with cheese.
  • Carefully fold the dough over the filling, pinching the edges to seal them. Place the filled sticks on a greased baking sheet.

Baking

  • Spray the tops lightly with cooking spray and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • Once baked, let them cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy with additional taco sauce for dipping!

Notes

Experiment with different types of cheese for unique flavors, and prepare the filling ahead of time for easy assembly.
