- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tsp paprika or Italian seasoning

- 1 cup long-grain rice jasmine or basmati
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup cream optional

- 1/2 cup mushrooms
- Fresh parsley for garnish
