These chocolate dipped bananas are an easy, no-bake treat made with ripe bananas coated in smooth, glossy chocolate. Sweet, simple, and endlessly customizable, they’re perfect for snacks, desserts, or party platters—and can be enjoyed chilled or frozen for a refreshing twist.

Ingredients

  • 3 –4 ripe but firm bananas
  • cups chocolate chips or chopped chocolate semi-sweet, dark, or milk
  • Flavor Base & Enhancers
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract optional
  • Pantry Staples & Toppings
  • Tiny pinch of salt
  • Optional toppings: sprinkles chopped nuts, shredded coconut, crushed cookies, mini chocolate chips

Instructions
 

  • Prep
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Peel bananas and cut in half crosswise if making banana pops.
  • Insert wooden sticks if desired.
  • Pat bananas dry and set aside.
  • Prepare toppings in small bowls.
  • Melt the Chocolate
  • Combine chocolate and coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl.
  • Microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth and glossy.
  • Stir in vanilla extract and salt if using.
  • Dip the Bananas
  • Dip each banana into melted chocolate, coating about ¾ of the banana.
  • Gently shake off excess chocolate.
  • Add Toppings
  • Sprinkle or roll in toppings before chocolate sets.
  • Place bananas on prepared baking sheet.
  • Chill
  • Refrigerate for 15–20 minutes until chocolate is set.
  • For frozen bananas, freeze for 1–2 hours.

Notes

  • Use firm bananas to prevent slipping and bending.
  • Add toppings immediately—chocolate sets fast.
  • For extra shine, keep moisture away from melted chocolate.
