Preparation

  • Select a soft bread like white or whole grain and trim the crusts.
  • Wash the cucumber thoroughly and slice into thin rounds using a mandoline for uniformity.
  • In a bowl, mix the cream cheese with finely chopped herbs, and season with a pinch of salt and pepper to taste.

Assembly

  • Spread a generous layer of the cream cheese mixture on one slice of bread.
  • Lay cucumber slices on top, overlapping them slightly for full coverage.
  • Cap with another slice of bread.
  • Cut the sandwich into quarters or triangles for best presentation.

Notes

Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor. If making in advance, lightly salt cucumber slices and let drain to avoid sogginess. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to meld flavors.
