Main Ingredients

  • 1 bag frozen meatballs (about 1 to 1.5 pounds)
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup uncooked pasta (penne or rotini)
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • optional Fresh basil for garnish

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the uncooked pasta, frozen meatballs, marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, and some salt and pepper. Stir until well mixed.
  • Transfer the mixture to a greased 9x13 inch baking dish and spread it out evenly.
  • Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and Parmesan cheese generously over the top.
  • Cover the dish with aluminum foil and place it in the preheated oven. Bake for 30 minutes.
  • After 30 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and slightly golden.
  • Let it sit for a few minutes to cool slightly, garnish with fresh basil if desired, and serve warm.

Notes

For a healthier option, use whole wheat pasta. You can also try using turkey or chicken meatballs or add vegetables like spinach, bell peppers, or mushrooms. Store leftovers in an airtight container for 3-4 days.
