Ingredients

Main ingredients

  • 1 pound whole raw carrots Choose firm carrots with smooth skin.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil Helps achieve crispy and flavorful results.
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme Can substitute with other herbs.
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt Adjust to taste.
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper Adjust to taste.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Wash your carrots thoroughly. Peel them if you prefer, and then cut them into even sticks or rounds, about 1/2 inch thick.
  • In a large bowl, combine the sliced carrots with olive oil, dried thyme, kosher salt, and ground black pepper. Toss until they are evenly coated.

Cooking

  • Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (205°C) for about 5 minutes.
  • Place the seasoned carrots in the air fryer basket in a single layer—avoid overcrowding. Cook them for about 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.
  • Check for doneness; the carrots should be tender and golden brown. If desired, add an extra 2-3 minutes for additional crispiness.

Serving

  • Remove the carrots from the air fryer and enjoy them warm as a side dish or a healthy snack.

Notes

Don’t overcrowd the basket, experiment with flavors, and ensure carrots are dry before seasoning. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
