Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 large apples (preferably firm varieties like Granny Smith or Fuji)
  • to taste nut butter (peanut butter, almond butter, or sunflower seed butter for nut-free)
  • to taste toppings (granola, raisins, mini chocolate chips, shredded coconut, or sliced almonds) Invite customization based on preferences.
  • optional yogurt (for dipping)

Instructions

Preparation

  • Wash the apples thoroughly.
  • Slice the apples into about 1/2-inch thick round slices, cutting through the center to create “donuts.”
  • If you have a core remover, you can easily remove the center before slicing.

Assembly

  • Take each apple slice and spread a generous layer of nut butter over one side.
  • Invite your kids to sprinkle their favorite toppings over the nut butter.
  • Arrange the finished apple donuts on a platter and serve with yogurt for dipping if desired.

Fun Activity

  • Set up a 'donut station' where kids can choose their own toppings.

Notes

Choose crisp apples to avoid browning. Involve children in the preparation for a fun family activity. Create a mix-and-match platter for visual appeal.
