  • 1 can (29 oz) peach slices, drained Use quality canned peaches for best flavor.
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • to taste Ground cinnamon (optional, for topping) Sprinkle on top for added flavor.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with cooking spray or melted butter.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • Add milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients; mix until just combined.
  • Pour the batter into the greased baking dish and spread it evenly.
  • Distribute the drained peach slices over the batter.
  • If desired, sprinkle ground cinnamon over the top.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30-40 minutes, until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Pairs well with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to four days.
