Ingredients

  • For the salmon:
  • 4 salmon fillets skin-on preferred
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper
  • For the glaze:
  • 2 tablespoons honey or brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Optional additions:
  • Fresh ginger
  • Chili flakes
  • Fresh herbs parsley or dill

Instructions

  • Preheat the grill to medium-high heat and lightly oil the grates.
  • Pat the salmon dry, brush with olive oil, and season with salt and pepper.
  • In a bowl, mix honey, soy sauce, garlic, and lemon juice to make the glaze.
  • Place salmon on the grill skin-side down and cook for 4–5 minutes.
  • Brush the glaze over the salmon, then carefully flip.
  • Cook for another 2–4 minutes until the salmon flakes easily.
  • Remove from the grill and garnish with herbs if desired before serving.

Notes

  • Keep the skin on to help prevent sticking and hold the fish together.
  • Avoid overcooking to maintain a moist and tender texture.
  • Add glaze midway through cooking to prevent burning.
  • Works well on a grill pan or in the oven if needed.
