Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Coat a loaf pan with non-stick spray or line with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the rolled oats, all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the egg, honey, milk, and melted butter until well blended.
  • Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
  • Transfer the batter into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
  • Bake for about 35 to 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Letting the bread cool allows the flavors to meld and the texture to set. Choose quality honey for the best flavor. Feel free to add spices, nuts, or dried fruits for variety.
