Ingredients
  

  • 1 –1½ lbs ground beef 80/20 recommended
  • Salt and black pepper
  • Optional seasonings:
  • Garlic powder
  • Onion powder
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • For serving:
  • Burger buns
  • Cheese cheddar, American, or preferred
  • Lettuce tomato, onion
  • Sauces ketchup, mayo, mustard

Instructions
 

  • Divide the ground beef into equal portions and gently shape into patties without overworking the meat. Make a small indentation in the center of each patty.
  • Season both sides generously with salt and black pepper just before grilling.
  • Preheat the grill to medium-high heat and lightly oil the grates.
  • Place patties on the grill and cook for 3–5 minutes per side, flipping only once.
  • Add cheese during the last minute of cooking and close the lid to melt.
  • Remove burgers from the grill and let them rest for 2–3 minutes before serving.
  • Assemble on buns with your favorite toppings and sauces.

Notes

  • Use 80/20 ground beef for the best balance of flavor and juiciness.
  • Avoid pressing down on burgers while cooking to retain juices.
  • Flip only once to keep burgers tender.
