  • 2 slices slices of bread (sourdough or whole grain)
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup fresh blueberries can be substituted with frozen, but fresh is preferred
  • 1/2 cup cheese (cheddar, Brie, or gouda) choose a melting cheese
  • Optional: a drizzle of honey or balsamic glaze for extra flavor
  • A pinch of sea salt

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread.
  • On the unbuttered side of one slice, layer half of the cheese, a generous sprinkle of blueberries, and then the remaining cheese. Top with the second slice, buttered side facing out.

Cooking

  • In a skillet over medium heat, place the sandwich carefully and cook for about 3-4 minutes until golden brown.
  • Flip the sandwich using a spatula and cook the other side for another 3-4 minutes until evenly browned and the cheese has melted.

Serving

  • Remove the sandwich from the pan, let it rest for a minute, then slice in half and enjoy.

Notes

For the best texture, ensure the cheese melts completely. Experiment with different breads for varied flavors.
