Ingredients

Onion and Filling

  • 2 medium Large onions
  • 1 cup Mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced

Breading Ingredients

  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 2 large Eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs, for coating
  • ½ cup Butter For making garlic butter
  • 1 teaspoon Salt To taste
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper To taste
  • 1 Paprika Optional, for flavor
  • Oil For frying

Instructions

Preparation

  • Peel the onions and slice them into thick rings, about 2-3 rings per onion.
  • Gently separate each ring and set aside the inner pieces.

Stuffing

  • In a small bowl, mix the shredded mozzarella with a pinch of salt, pepper, and paprika.
  • Carefully stuff each outer ring with the mixture, pressing it down slightly.

Breading

  • Prepare three bowls: one with flour, another with beaten eggs, and the last with breadcrumbs.
  • Dip each stuffed onion ring in flour, then egg, and finally coat it with breadcrumbs.

Frying

  • Heat oil in a large pot or deep fryer until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
  • Carefully add the onion rings in batches, frying until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes on each side.
  • Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.

Garlic Butter

  • In a small saucepan, melt the butter and add the minced garlic, sautéing until fragrant.

Serving

  • Drizzle the garlic butter over the crispy onion rings and serve hot.

Notes

For best results, ensure the oil is at the right temperature and let the rings rest after breading before frying.
