  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

Frosting Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 splash milk For desired consistency

Instructions

Prepare the Dough

  • Combine 1 cup flour, sugar, yeast, and salt in a large bowl.
  • In another bowl, mix pumpkin puree, milk, melted butter, and egg.
  • Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry mix, incorporating more flour until a soft dough forms.

Knead the Dough

  • On a floured surface, knead the dough for about 5–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Place in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise in a warm place for about an hour or until doubled in size.

Roll and Fill

  • Once risen, punch down the dough and roll it into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
  • Mix brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a bowl.
  • Spread softened butter across the dough, then sprinkle the sugar mixture evenly.

Shape the Rolls

  • Starting from one edge, carefully roll the dough into a log.
  • Cut the log into 12 equal pieces and arrange them in a greased baking dish.

Final Rise

  • Cover the dish with a towel and allow the rolls to rise for another 30 minutes.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Bake

  • Bake rolls for about 25-30 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.

Frosting Time

  • While they bake, whisk together powdered sugar and a splash of milk for a glaze.
  • Once rolls are out of the oven, drizzle the glaze over the warm rolls.

Serve and Enjoy

  • Allow to cool slightly before serving with coffee or tea.

Notes

Use warm ingredients to activate the yeast properly. Adjust sweetness by using less brown sugar or a sugar substitute if desired. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to two days.
