Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 3 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 10 oz marshmallows 1 package
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • as needed Yellow food coloring For coloring the ruler
  • as needed Candy melts or chocolate For adding details
  • as needed Edible markers or frosting Optional for decorating

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large saucepan over low heat, melt the butter and marshmallows together. Stir continuously until they become smooth and creamy.
  • Once your mixture is melted, remove it from heat and add in the Rice Krispies. Stir thoroughly to ensure every cereal piece is coated in the gooey goodness.
  • Wet your hands to prevent sticking and press the mixture into a rectangular pan, shaping it to resemble a ruler. Make sure it’s about ½ inch to 1 inch thick for the best results.
  • Once your ruler shape has cooled, use yellow food coloring to paint one side of the treats.
  • Melt your candy melts or chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl. Use a piping bag or Ziplock bag with a small corner cut off to create lines and numbers on your 'ruler.'
  • If you want to take your treats to the next level, add edible markers or frosting to create more intricate designs.
  • Once everything has set properly, cut the ruler-shaped Rice Krispies into equal pieces.

Notes

Store leftover Ruler Rice Krispies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. Use fresh ingredients for the best texture and taste. Lightly grease hands and tools to prevent sticking.
