Brownie Batter

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix Use your favorite brand
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced Preferably organic for best flavor
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs Ensure they are at room temperature
  • 1/4 cup milk Room temperature
  • 1 cup chocolate chips Optional but recommended
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • a pinch salt

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare an 8×8-inch baking pan by greasing it or lining it with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, vegetable oil, eggs, milk, and vanilla extract. Stir until smooth and free of lumps.
  • Gently fold in the sliced strawberries and chocolate chips (if using) and ensure even distribution.

Baking

  • Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly, and bake for 25-30 minutes, checking with a toothpick for moist crumbs.
  • Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Serving

  • Cut cooled brownies into squares and enjoy, optionally serving them warm with vanilla or strawberry ice cream.

Notes

To enhance flavor, consider adding almond extract or a sprinkle of cinnamon. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2-3 days or refrigerate for a week.
